Peran Spiritualitas Bagi Orang Dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA) : Literature Review

Abstrak

Background: HIV is a virus that attacks the body's immune system so as to increase susceptibility to various kinds of infections. While AIDS is a series of symptoms that occur due to decreased immunity. HIV / AIDS causes problems in PLHIV, one of which is spiritual. Spiritual problems include blaming God, experiencing internal conflict, and despair that leads to spiritual distress. Objective: To know the role of spirituality for PLHIV. Method: This research was conducted with literature review, using 10 journals searched from August 14, 2023 to August 17, 2023. Results: After conducting research with literature review, it was found  that spirituality plays an important role for PLHIV because with high spirituality PLHIV is able to carry out adaptive coping mechanisms, increase therapy adherence, and improve the quality of life in  PLHIV Conclusion: The problems experienced by PLHIV are not only in the physical aspect but also the spiritual aspect so that spirituality plays an important role for PLHIV.
