The mortality rate due to diabetic foot ulcer and gangrene reaches 17-23%, amputation reaches 15-30%, and the post-amputation mortality rate is 14.8%. One of the management of diabetic foot ulcer is to utilize hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). However, the results in the form of benefits and use are still a matter of debate. Objective: The purpose of this review is to evaluate the effect of HBOT on healing diabetic foot ulcers. Method: This study was conducted with a literature review, using three databases, namely PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar, obtained five articles that were included. Results: after research with literature review, reported that hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) can accelerate the healing process of diabetic foot ulcers, by reducing wound size, lowering levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) and white blood cells (WBC), inducing angiogenesis of EGF, VEGF, PDGF, FGF-2 and CXCL10 and changing serum interleukin 6 (IL-6) and VEGF levels to be larger. Based on this review, it has been determined that hyperbaric oxygen therapy can effectively treat diabetic foot ulcers. This additional therapy can promote faster healing and prevent further infection, ultimately reducing the risk of amputation. Conclusion: There is an effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) on the healing of diabetic foot ulcers
