Abstrak

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by high blood sugar which can cause complications, one of which is diabetic foot ulcers The incidence of dia diabetic neuropathy continues to increase because it is triggered by a lack of knowledge and self-motivation in making prevention efforts in type 2 DM patients. The study aims to identify the impact of health education on the knowledge level and Self-Motivation in the prevention of neuropathy in DM diabetes patient type 2 on Dinoyo Health Center in Malang City. The research design uses cross sectional. The population in this study was the number of DM patients on Dinoyo Health Center during July as many as 43 using systematic random sampling techniques obtained a sample of 39 studies The data collection technique used an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis method used is the Fisher Exact Test (P value < 0.05). The results of this study indicate that most of the respondents with high self-motivation and almost half the number of respondents with less knowledge than patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of the elderly and self-motivation in the elderly with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at the Puskesmas. Dinoyo Malang City (rvakue = 0.000). Monitoring blood sugar levels in the elderly with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus needs to be done regularly, this is based on an increase in the value of blood sugar levels, family members of elderly people with Diabetes Mellitus are advised to provide motivation for foot care by giving confidence to do some activities as a form of responsibility thus fostering a sense that the disease can be cured.
