Abstrak

Background: Hypertension is one of the main causes of premature death in the world and recorded 10.4 million deaths caused by hypertension. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2015 showed that around 1.13 billion people in the world had hypertension, meaning that one in three people in the world was diagnosed with hypertension. The number of hypertension continues to increase every year, it is estimated that by 2025 there will be 1.5 billion people affected by hypertension, and it is estimated that every year 9.4 million people die from hypertension and its complications. The management of hypertension is divided into two, namely pharmacological and non-pharmacological management. One type of non-pharmacological therapy to treat hypertension is by using celery leaves. Objective: To determine the effect of boiled celery (Apium graveolens L) leaves on reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Methods: This study was conducted using a literature review, using 15 journals that were searched from March 25 to April 18 2022. Results: After conducting research with a literature review, it was found that there was an effect of giving boiled celery leaves (Apium graveolens L) on reducing blood pressure in sufferers. hypertension. Conclusion: that there is an effect of giving boiled water of celery leaves (Apium graveolens L) on reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
